Project Spotlight
Blackhawk
This client sought us out as a dealer to take over and expand his existing Control4 system. He came to us with a desire to carry over his current Control4 products from his old residence and expand the system to meet the needs of his new residence that he was in the beginning stages of renovating. Interests included home theater, distributed audio, distributed video, access control, Wi-Fi that covers the entire home, and surveillance. We worked hand in hand with the client, who is an architect, to produce his modern vision of home automation. Whether it is relaxing with a movie with family in the 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos theater room, entertaining guests in the spacious great room, or barbecuing on the back backyard patio, this home is dialed in to entertain and perform.

Ruby Hill
This client recently purchased this beautiful home from one of our long-time clients. The new owners needed to transfer the technology solutions over and wanted to update aging equipment. This included transitioning to our managed network and Wi-Fi, a new 85-inch Seura outdoor TV, distributed audio upgrades, and a new door station at the front door. Once completed, we educated our new clients on the inherited technology along with the new items we installed for them. Our new clients are now enjoying their favorite movies, TV shows, sports, and music throughout their new home and backyard. They stay connected to fast Wi-Fi and enjoy control, browsing, and working from anywhere on the property as well.
Pleasanton
This client has spent his career in tech and is well-versed and savvy. There was a lot of collaboration regarding theory and product selection during the design process of this "forever" system. While the project included a fairly major remodel of the home, the main focus was definitely the Media Room. The client came into the process interested in Meridian, a well-known and highly regarded manufacturer of audiophile self-powered loudspeakers. However, this system was also to include Dolby Atmos which required sourcing a processor from another manufacturer as the nucleus for the system. For these duties, we tasked Lyngdorf Audio whose processor interfaced seamlessly with the Meridian system and added RoomPerfect, one of the most powerful audio calibration solutions in the industry. The jewels of the system are the Meridian DSP7200SE front stage speakers, an aesthetic and acoustic statement in elegance. Meridian in-wall and in-ceiling speakers round out the Atmos surround sound. JL Audio Fathom in-wall subwoofers serve to underpin the system with big, powerful and deep bass, yet in an extremely discrete package. Rounding things out are a Sony 4K laser projector and Stewart Filmscreen.
The home also includes a very nice Family Room surround sound system built around the fantastic Totem Tribe on-wall speakers. Lighting control is handled by Lutron Homeworks and was retrofitted in with no new wiring. Control and integration of all rooms is handled by Control4 and distributed audio by Sonos. Lastly, tying everything together is our hosted Unifi network solution which blankets the home and property with fast, reliable Wi-Fi.

Martis Camp

This Martis Camp mountain-modern is located in Truckee, California, among the most prestigious communities of its type. Having done more than five homes for this client, we've become very familiar. The home is outfitted with the highest quality elements throughout and the technology solution is no exception. Knowing the client as we do, design, product selection, installation and support were tasked to us. More subjective elements like material and color selection were a team effort with designers, the builder and our clients.
Natural and artificial light is controlled by Lutron Homeworks lighting control and Sivoia shading. The home has walls that are nearly entirely glass which showcase spectacular mountain views. The Lutron shading solution allows for control of sunlight and affords privacy when required. Coupled with high-end fixtures controlled by Homeworks, the home blends natural and artificial light beautifully, creating a warm, comfortable and welcoming environment.
Audio and video through the home include displays from Sony, architectural speakers from Bowers & Wilkins and electronics from Anthem. Included into the Great Room is a large TV tucked away into a cabinet on a motorized lift allowing views to be unimpeded while not in use. Each room in the home has individually zoned warm-floors augmented by three zones of forced air for more rapid heating during the winter and cooling during the summer. The home is secured by high-resolution surveillance cameras and a monitored security system. All of the technology solutions are tied together with a Savant Home automation system allowing the client to use a single app for complete control. Seamless wired and wireless internet from our fully managed network ties everything together and provides reliable and fast internet for our clients and their guests.
This project is a great example of how Avid Home Theater is able to help our clients with second home solutions. Further, our clients are able to have one point of contact for all of their properties. Working hand in hand with a fantastic builder resulted in a project we're truly proud of.
Danville
In 2019 we installed a distributed audio system in their home with Control4 automation and control. Then in 2021, our client came to us with a desire to have the same great experience outdoors as a part of their backyard remodel project. The end result is a tropical paradise prime for entertaining.
To ensure everyone has a prime seat to enjoy the game, a 65” outdoor TV is located on opposite ends of the backyard. A TV can be viewed from the comfort of the covered patio in the California room, or while cooling off on the bar seats located in the pool.
A three-zone audio system covers the backyard in sound with in-ground speakers around the spa, in-ceiling speakers on the covered patio, on-wall speakers behind the landscape at the fire pit, and a sound bar below the pool TV in the outdoor kitchen. Control for the system is a breeze when using the Control4 app for seamless control.

Sunol
This 10K foot modern luxury property is a project we did with a long-time builder partner a few years back. It includes all of the usual solutions, Network and WiFi, Whole House Audio including outdoor solutions and a dedicated Media Room/Man Cave.
We worked hand-in-hand with the clients and builder over multiple years as this complex, striking home took shape. Since, our client has decided to relocate and the home was put up for sale. Our builder partner shared the listing with everyone who contributed and we think the photography really shows the unique and beautiful work that was done here.
